While the city of Mira bhayandar and it’s Citizens suffer with drinking water 💧cuts once a week or delayed supplies of it, none of the citizens seem to know the real reasons behind this. Builder lobby has a fixed per sq. Ft amount to be paid to certain Politicians and officials in office who in turn make sure a blind eye is turned to every irregularity and facilitated with water connections in most cases when CC is acquired and water supply started to buildings even before they acquire a OC and MBMC gives out part OC on completion certificates of Architects without even verifying , these are as per findings in the documents under RTI
On one end MBMC had gone on a spree of Cutting of water connections of Societies for non payment of individual property taxes and on other hand details reveal a bigger Nexus of MBMC officials, Builders and Politicians for never ending illegal constructions and illegal water connections doled out to the same courtesy a understanding between all the above three.
Builders without even completing the construction and getting a occupancy certificate give out possession to flat buyer’s to earn dividends as maintenance of the building which is way beyond actual expenses incurred,water department rolls out water to illegal connections given by them,PWD dept issues a NOC for Solar water heating system stating builder has agreed for it’s maintenance,same NOC is used in applications submitted for Such illegal connections,who pockets the money till actual meters are put up in such buildings is a question which is self answered.
Politicians work as middleman for every irregularity from the time CC is obtained ,part Occupancy certificate is another fraud which happens because of the Architect who issues a completion certificate to a building which is not complete and submits it to MBMC,whereas actual completion of work is still a long time away,one wing work is completed and possession given out to flat buyer’s and water connections given out to even such buildings,whereas even on RERA website no OC is uploaded by the builder actually.
On one end Court orders which state that unless builders take a connection from BMC’s main water line no Occupancy certificate should be given, this is where the manipulation is done and supply of water from those connections started,who benefits from these connections is again a understood fact.During the tenure of IAS Commissioner Mr.Vikram Kumar stringent rule was made that none of the New Buildings to be given out a water connection unless a OCCUPANCY certificate is issued,but that rule went for a toss after his hasty transfer before his tenure completed !
Slums or rather illegal slums to be precise is another area where Politicians ,MBMC officials nexus has been found, areas which fall under CRZ have a rampant takeover of land by these slums and on thr name of humanitarian grounds works are carried out by PWD of concrete roads or paver block roads along with street lights, property tax dept tax on these slums is another big question mark and is still being investigated currently,even here water department doles out common water connections for a cumulative 5 or 6 houses in these slums.
The files submitted for approvals for these illegal slum water connections have visiting cards attached of corporators of the area ,and each file will have a close aides name of the politician / Corporator who is assigned to collect money 💰 from the rest for getting water 💦, connections given here too almost 40 to 50 water connections in each area of the slums which are doled out by MBMC officials have a common name in all applications to which a blind eye is turned and connections approved !!! despite clear order that no works are to be carried out by MBMC in CRZ area,
