Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation is heading for serious trouble for disconnecting water lines of Societies,for non payment of Property Tax bills by individual flat owners !!
Moreover same MBMC has been going low on Open Land Tax which amounts in crores from land owner’s and builders, but on their target is the common tax paying citizen, who for no mistake is directly threatened by MBMC in the property tax bill itself!!with a printed threat of disconnecting water line’s if Bill’s remain unpaid.
The worst part is none of the so called public servant’s i.e. Corporators, Mla’s have uttered a single word and opposed this illegality of MBMC, neither concerned officials of MBMC including Water Department Head or Property Tax Dept Dy Commissioner Or even the Commissioner have replied to various complaints via email or messsges, even complaints filed via Aaple sarkar or to Mantralaya Maharashtra are unreplied and are still going merry go round amongst concerned officials itself past fortnight. journalist’s in MBMC area even refused to entertain one complainant Tushar Deherkar who personally went and met few Journalist’s in the Press Room of MBMC and asked him to first send a legal notice after that they will consider if they will raise this issue đđ¤.
Sad state of the Media, if nothing spicy for readers or not a thriller media today doesn’t consider problems of citizen’s unless it gets hyped ! One complainant Tushar Deherkar who personally went and met few Journalist’s in the Press Room of MBMC was asked by them to first send a legal notice to MBMC after that they will consider if they will raise this issue đđ¤.
MBMC has a tough road ahead, back to back complaints are being filed with Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission for disconnecting society water line’s despite MBMC raising individual property tax bills, a writ petition is also in the process of being filed against the Twin city Municipal corporation along with Defamation suites for putting posts on social media with names of societies and embarassing them, despite Societies having nothing outstanding as a entity.
It seems this time MBMC officials have eaten more than what they can actually chew and the citizens have decided to take them to task, whatever happens MBMC. Will get a befitting lesson of.. Never to underestimate the power of a common man.
