The Enforcement Directorate arrested two aides of former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and have been remanded to NIA custody. The remand note by NIA listed further details such as Mr. Deshmukh’s connection to 11 shell companies. Several restaurants reportedly paid money to Sachin Vaze which was to be further directed to the former Home Minister.
The law Enforcement Agency arrested Deshmukh’s personal secretary Sanjeev Palande and personal assistant Kundan Shinde in connection with the charges of money laundering against the politician who allegedly took a bribe of up to Rs 100 crore.
ED had summoned Anil Deshmukh today but he sent his Advocate today with a letter sighting inability to attend today sighting his age and health issues along with offering full cooperation in the investigation.He will be summoned again soon.
It is alleged that Anil Deshmukh had received over Rs 4 crore from bar owners in Mumbai and channeled that money to his trust in the form of donations through various dummy companies.
