Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission Issues Summons To MBMC For Disconnecting Water Lines !

Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporations Property Tax Department was on a spree of  disconnecting Water Lines of Societies in the twin city illegally  !! Despite knowing that it was violating the law and threatening Citizens, finally a complaint was filed with Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission on 10th March 2022 on the basis of which summons have been issued to MBMC Commissioner and MBVV Police Commissioner on this issue

Emails sent to Commissioner MBMC, Dy Commissioner of Property Tax Mr. Shinde none of the emails were replied. Moreover Dy Commissioner Shinde refused to reply to Citizens stating it is not possible for him to reply to Citizens on whatsapp and they can send email or letter to his office, which shows arrogance of the Dy Commissioner who takes tax payers for granted.

MBMC raises property tax bills in the twin city individually or flat wise for building’s in it,  cases have come up where there are say 30 member’s in a particular society and there are 2 or 3 official water lines of the society and there are few flats who have not paid there property tax, so MBMC is legally bound to raise a notice of default to those flat owner’s and if still unpaid can legally confiscate their property, but MBMC works on a formula of threats not to tax payers alone but entire Societies
