Maharashtra School Reopening decision has been announced in the Cabinet meeting today, which was chaired by CM Uddhav Thackeray
Schools to resume offline classes from Monday, January 24, 2022 and district authorities can take the final call.
Maharashtra Education minister Varsha Gaikwad announced the decision.
Schools reopening has been a big decision today as the state was among the worst affected in the last wave of Covid, Though local district authorities are still free to take a call on school reopening and closing assessing the situation.
But many parents are sceptical about the decision as all over India cases are rising and rising rapidly, though expert’s believe that Children are less affected and have a stronger immunity against Covid but what are going to be the effects of it on the kids in the long run is a worry for all parent’s,along with transmission of the virus to the elderly and comorbids in case if they get infected.
The choice has to be made by the parents if they agree to send their kids for offline classes the parents will have to sign a consent form again which puts onus of anything and everything on the Parents and absolves the responsibility of the school’s !
Is this worth the risk to be taken is what needs to be asked to the Government ? Yes Education and Mental growth of kids has suffered in Covid period but the risks involved are still too high of opening up the schools again, it’s a dynamic and everyday evolving situation in every Covid wave and only time will tell if this move of the Government in Maharashtra has any recupressions.
